Work Programme Report

 

 

1.0       PURPOSE OF REPORT

 

1.1         To advise Members of the latest version of the Committee’s work programme.

 

 

2.0       BACKGROUND

 

2.1       The Committee’s work programme is owned by the Committee and lists items that are important locally, relevant at a strategic level and evolves over time.

 

2.2       At the meeting of the committee held on 17 March 2025 Members suggested the following items for the work programme.

 

·           An update from Richmondshire Leisure Trust regarding Richmond Swimming Pool

Richmond Leisure and Wellbeing Hub is now operated by the Council and is included in the Strategic Leisure Review. Updates on the review are reported to the Housing and Leisure Overview and Scrutiny Committee on a biannual basis

 

·           An update on the current position regarding the A684, Morton Flatts, River Swale flooding

An item will be brought to either the September or November meeting

 

·           Information from Royal Mail regarding the delivery of post following a number of complaints regarding the frequency of deliveries

Difficulty finding a contact for this information. Emailed request on 9 June 2025 – no response to date (17/06/25). Some publicly available information is attached at appendix 1.

 

2.3       The Work Programme will continue to be circulated with the agenda.

Members are asked to consider the Committee’s work programme and amend as required.

Royal Mail are piloting an amended service at 37 of their delivery offices. The locations of the 37 have not been made public but the pilot includes:

 

 

This is part of Royal Mail’s proposal to Ofcom on the future of letter deliveries. More details and information can be found on the Royal Mail website. Ofcom is expected to publish its decision this summer.
